I love learning new things, and I came across a little gem that I didn’t know about Google Calendar, so I thought I’d share it (in case you didn’t know it either) 🙂

Did you know there is a keyboard shortcut menu within Google calendar?  I didn’t!  To access this little nugget, just press Shift and ?

It opens up a menu of all the keyboard shortcuts you can use within the calendar.

For example, you can quickly change your view of the calendar to day, week, month, agenda or the custom view just by pressing the corresponding key.  And to make sure you view the current period, whether it’s week or month etc, just press T (for today) and it will automatically come back to the current time.

If you find that the keyboard shortcuts don’t work, it might be because they haven’t been enabled in your settings.  To change this, go to your calendar settings by clicking on the drop down arrow next to where it says My Calendars on the left hand side, then select Settings…

Next, click on the General tab at the top of the page…

and scroll down to the bottom of the page to where it says Enable Keyboard Shortcuts, and just click Yes (don’t forget to press save afterwards)…

And that’s it – you should be able to make use of the keyboard shortcuts!  I am so glad I found this out, I’ve been using Google calendar for ages and just never knew – I hope you find it handy to know too 🙂
