If you want to make your PowerPoint presentation more unique, you could add a watermark of your company logo (for example) to the slides.  The steps below show you how to do this using PowerPoint 2007.

Firstly click on the slide where you want to place the watermark.  If you want the watermark to be on every slide in the presentation, click on View in the ribbon and select Slide Master…

View Slidemaster

Click on Insert in the ribbon and choose either Picture or Clip Art for an image, or WordArt or Text Box if you want to use text…

Insert image

Follow the instructions for inserting an image from your computer or clip art, and once you’ve chosen your image, click Insert.  If you’re inserting a text box, click and use your mouse to create a box, drag it into position and type your wording, or if you’re using WordArt choose your style and add the text…

You can change the size of the picture by right clicking on the mouse and choosing Size and Position…

Size

This opens up a dialogue box where you can change the height, width and position of the image.  If you want the picture to keep its proportions the same during the resizing, tick the Lock aspect ratio box…

A watermark is more transparent than a background so the next thing to do is change the transparency of the image.  Click on the picture and go to the Format option in the ribbon…

Picture tools

You can then change the variation of colour by selecting Recolour and choosing one of the options that you like most…

Recolour

Then you can adjust the brightness and contrast by clicking on the corresponding buttons…

Contrast

Once you have your image exactly how you want it, click on the picture, go to the Format tab in the ribbon and choose Send to Back in the Arrange section…

Send to back

This means the image will be in the background and won’t interfere with anything else on the slide…

And that’s it – an easy way to make your presentations unique 🙂
